About the Role
We are looking for a Sound Designer to take full ownership of the audio production for our products, from concept to final delivery. We need someone with strong expertise who can bring fresh gaming audio and sound design patterns from traditional game development into the iGaming industry, moving away from outdated conventions.
Responsibilities
- Full-Cycle Audio Production: Create the complete audio experience for games from scratch, from developing the sound design concept to composing background music and delivering the final mix.
- Establishing the Studio’s Audio Identity: Since we don’t follow rigid benchmarks, you’ll have the freedom to develop a unique sonic identity and define quality standards across all our slot games.
- Creating “Audio Dopamine”: Design progressive sound sequences for wins of different magnitudes (Big Win / Mega Win), bonus modes, animations, and UI elements. Sound should keep players engaged and reinforce the slot’s mathematical model.
- Close Collaboration with Game Design: Act as a proactive partner to the Game Design team. You’ll help shape the game’s audio experience from the earliest stages, contributing ideas on how sound can enhance gameplay dynamics.
- Voice-Over and AI Audio: When a game requires character voice-overs, you’ll be responsible for sourcing and processing voice talent or efficiently implementing and post-processing AI-generated voices using modern AI tools.
- Web and Mobile Optimization: Carefully prepare and compress audio assets without compromising sound quality, ensuring fast, seamless loading in mobile browsers.
- Technical Specifications for Developers: Prepare production-ready asset packages (MP3/WAV/Audio Sprites) for frontend developers.
- Supporting the QA Team: Work closely with QA to ensure audio quality in web builds. Help create audio testing checklists covering seamless loops, volume balance, and the absence of clicks or audio bugs, and conduct targeted audits of final builds before release.
Requirements
- Senior-Level Expertise: You can make independent decisions, justify your choices, and organize your workflow effectively.
- GameDev / iGaming Experience: Experience with slot games is a plus, but not a requirement. We’re happy to consider candidates from traditional PC or mobile game development who understand gameplay loops and have a strong portfolio.
- Stylistic Flexibility: Ability to switch quickly between different genres and audio styles.
- Technical Proficiency: Understanding of how to optimize audio assets without significantly compromising sound quality, ensuring fast loading times on mobile devices and in browsers.
- Understanding of audio content licensing, including commercial sound libraries, generative AI tools, and voice usage rights.
- Proactivity and Soft Skills: Ability to handle feedback constructively and translate abstract team requests into specific frequencies, effects, and sound design solutions. Respect for colleagues and the ability to work in a flat team structure. You’ll have the final say on audio decisions, but we always value collaboration and listen to one another.
Nice to Have
What We Offer
- Complete Freedom in Tool Selection: We don’t dictate which DAW you use (Reaper, Ableton, Pro Tools, Cubase). If you need licenses, we’ll provide them.
- Budget for Production Resources: We’re happy to purchase commercial sound libraries (Boom Library, Krotos, etc.) and subscriptions to essential AI services (Udio, Suno, ElevenLabs). We understand that the right tools help speed up production.
- No Micromanagement: We don’t track your hours. We set the task and the game release deadline, and we trust you to deliver outstanding results on time.
- Competitive compensation.
- Remote work (excluding Russia).
